Sailing First is run by sailors living in Copenhagen who are passionate about sailing. We have been teaching sailing for many years. In 2020 we set up Sailing First as an RYA Recognised Training Centre in Copenhagen to help sailors living in Denmark get access to the international recognition and quality provided by RYA English language courses. Our last course (for now) begun in October of 2022, the RYA Day Skipper theory course, which was a great success.

We were spending a little too much time in the classroom and doing administration though, so we're putting more attention on being out on the water and redirected the purpose of this site into connecting internationals in Copenhagen to sailing opportunities that can be hard to find as an expat.

Whether you're a beginner or advanced sailor, there's opportunities all over Copenhagen where you can join the sailing community. Our new mission at Sailing First is to do our best to help bring these opportunities to you, and get your sailing journey in Copenhagen started.
